The Triennial aims to present the achievements of artists from all over the world, creating posters for the cultural scene (classical, modern, experimental forms of various stage performances: theatre, opera, dance, operetta, musical, circus, puppet theatre, pantomime, concerts, pop music, festivals, video and visual forms, etc.) The Ninth International Triennial of Stage Poster will be held in November, 2019 at the National Palace of Culture, Sofia. Terms of participation: Accepted are posters created during the period May 15, 2016 – May 30, 2019. 1st Category: Printed posters for cultural events (classical, modern, multi-genre, etc. kinds of stage, screen, musical, visual or other type of art performances); 2nd Category: Posters on a specific topic: ART FESTIVALS The organizers' idea is to consider the concept of art festivals in its widest sense in terms of genre, style, type or any other characteristic. The section is open to posters issued for festivals that have already taken place or that are created specifically for the ninth edition of the International Triennial of Stage Poster-Sofia. No text is required. Format: Minimum format А2 (420 х 594 mm) Number of posters to be submitted: Each artist may submit up to 4 posters, accompanied by CD (size A5, format .ai, .eps, .tif, .pdf, at 300 dpi resolution, CMYK) with their digital images, a completed application form for participation and a short CV. It is desirable already issued posters to be submitted in two copies. Submission deadline: not later than May 30, 2019. There is no participation fee. The results of the selection will be published and announced in June 2019. An authoritative international jury will determine the awards shortly before the opening ceremony of the Triennial. The awards will be announced at the official opening ceremony – November 1, 2019. Awards GRAND PRIX – statuette GOLDEN POSTER, a small sculpture by Prof. Bogomil Nikolov TWO EQUIVALENT PRIZES – a bronze plaque by Prof. Bogomil Nikolov (for each of the two categories) PRIZE FOR YOUNG AUTHOR (not older than 35) – a bronze plaque by Georgi Chapkanov, created in memory of the eminent Bulgarian artist Assen Stareyshinski. Every participant should send their posters properly packed for transportation, without frames or passé-partout, and labelled “Printed Matter. No commercial value”. The organizers bear no responsibility for any damages incurred during transportation. Upon consent of the authors, posters remain property of the Fund of the Triennial after the closing of the exhibition. The organizers are allowed to photograph and reproduce the posters free of charge for the needs of all printed materials of the Triennial and other publications related to it. The organizers reserve the right to reject any work which is not in compliance with the statute of the Triennial, violates moral standards, or offends national or religious sensibilities. Catalogue A colour catalogue of the Ninth International Triennial of Stage Poster–Sofia 2019 will be published. All participants in the Triennial will receive a free copy of the catalogue.
